Our path to creating the Burger Wisconsin ’world’s best burger’ begins by assembling a range of different ingredients sourced fresh from reputable suppliers in New Zealand and delivered to our stores each day.
Many of our ingredients are created especially for Burger Wisconsin to give our Burgers that superior fresh and healthy flavour.
We are constantly looking for, and trialing, new food ingredients and tastes to give you a unique and individual Burger Wisconsin experience.

- Our patty contains ground AngusPure beef, onion, herbs & spices, & fresh egg to bind.
- All natural - no preservatives, additives or artificial binders are used.
- Only NZ barn-raised, free to roam, grain fed chicken is used.
- Each breast fillet is whole chicken meat only.
- Marinated & coated to a special Burger Wisconsin recipe for tenderness & juiciness.
- Our Tandoori chicken uses chicken thighs for flavour, combined with a traditional blend of Indian spices, including paprika & turmeric, to give that classic spicy Indian Tandoori taste.
- Our Lamb is NZ farmed. Using the shoulder cut for extra flavour, we trim the fat and cut it into strips then marinate in a blend of coriander, cumin, garlic and soy.
- We use the NZ favorite Tarakihi fillets, caught in NZ waters. Tarakihi is a firm textured white flesh fish, with good Omega-3 content & great flavour, which we lightly crumb for seasoning.
- Tarakihi is a Forest & Bird 'best fish choice' for environmentally sustainable fishing.
- Our Vegetarian falafel is a cornucopia of goodness. Ingredients include chickpeas, red kidney beans, rice, peanuts, sesame seeds plus coriander and spices.
- All Burgers have 2 styles of Fancy Lettuce, Buttercrunch & Red Frill, for taste and fresh crunch.
- Lettuces are specifically grown for Burger Wisconsin from certified seed.
- All are hydroponically grown, no sprays are used.
- Picked whole, the day before and delivered still growing, to stores where they are hand leaved and washed before your burger is prepared.
- Are used for flavour, colour and a little natural sweetness.
- They are the best Onion to be eaten raw and will not give Onion breath.
- Onions are purchased whole & hand sliced.
- Onions are from the garlic family and are believed to have similar health benefits.
- Only rich red vine Tomatoes are used.
- Our Tomatoes are purchased whole & hand sliced in store.
- Fresh Tomatoes are believed to be good for the heart. They are high in lycopene and antioxidants.
- Fresh whole Avocados are delivered and ripened in store.
- We do not buy pulped or processed Avocado mash from overseas.
- Avocados are hand stoned and chunky mashed to preserve their taste & texture.
- We take sliced onions and slowly caramalize them in Olive oil and Balsamic vinegar.
- Add them to your burger for that natural sticky sweet taste.
- Fresh Portobello & large flat mushrooms are sliced and quickly grilled with a drizzle of Olive oil and a little salt & pepper to season.
- Add them for that healthy earthy taste.
- Only trimmed middle Bacon rashers are used for reduced fat content.
- That Kiwi favourite from Hawaii, pineapple grilled for that sweet fruity feeling.
- NZ specialty soft creamy Camembert is used to give that smooth tangy taste.
- We use natural whole milk block NZ Colby Cheddar as it is a mild cheese with a softer and more open texture.
- We do not use processed reformed cheese slices.
- Our NZ Blue Cheese is aged to give a strong sharp tangy flavour & aroma.
- From NZ, soft mild tasting fresh Cream Cheese, and tangy Sour Cream are used.
- For that peppered burger taste, coarse ground pepper from the spice islands

- Popular Arabian thick paste made from ground chickpeas and sesame seeds, olive oil, lemon, and garlic.

Our burgers will not be like those of the international chains - with the same mass produced, processed burger sold in every store in every country. (Burger Wisconsin was created in New Zealand, although we have been copied many times both here and overseas.)
Our burger is a bespoke product, and therefore will have subtle flavour changes due to the sauces being hand-made in-store and the grill chef cooking the meat to order, as opposed to machine timed cookers.
Like homemade hand prepared food, there will be subtle differences which give you the knowledge & satisfaction that Burger Wisconsin Burgers are real food.
